RRB NTPC is the Railway Recruitment Boards' Non-Technical Popular Categories exam, the big Indian Railways hiring round for clerk, supervisor and train-manager posts. Two things are live right now. First, fresh applications for the 2026 cycle are open on rrbapply.gov.in: 3,548 Graduate posts under CEN 06/2026 (last date 6 November 2026) and 1,688 Undergraduate posts under CEN 07/2026 (last date 13 November 2026). Second, the RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 result for the previous cycle, CEN 07/2025, was declared on 30 October 2026 on the regional RRB websites. This page covers both, with the official dates, fees and steps.
RRB NTPC 2026: quick facts
- Graduate notice: CEN 06/2026, 3,548 posts, apply 8 October to 6 November 2026 (11:59 pm)
- Undergraduate notice: CEN 07/2026, 1,688 posts, apply 15 October to 13 November 2026 (11:59 pm)
- Total: 5,236 posts across 21 Railway Recruitment Boards
- Apply only at: rrbapply.gov.in — there is no app and no offline form
- Fee: ₹500 for General, OBC and EWS (₹400 back after CBT 1); ₹250 for SC, ST, women, PwBD, ex-servicemen, transgender, minority and EBC candidates (all refunded after CBT 1, minus bank charges)
- Selection: CBT 1, then CBT 2, then document verification and a medical exam. No typing test this cycle, and no CBAT
Two notices, two levels of posts
The Graduate notice, CEN 06/2026, is for degree holders. Goods Train Manager is the biggest post with 2,750 vacancies at Level 5 pay (₹29,200 starting basic). Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor carries 127 posts at Level 6 (₹35,400), Senior Clerk cum Typist has 371 posts at Level 5, and Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist has 300 posts at Level 5. Allowances like DA and HRA come on top of the basic pay.
The Undergraduate notice, CEN 07/2026, is for candidates who have passed Class 12. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk has 700 posts at Level 3 (₹21,700), Junior Clerk cum Typist has 600 at Level 2 (₹19,900), Accounts Clerk cum Typist has 200 at Level 2, and Trains Clerk has 188 at Level 2. Full RRB-wise tables are in Annexure B of each notice PDF.
One rule catches people out every cycle: you apply to one RRB only. A second application, even to the same board, gets every form rejected and can get you debarred from later RRB exams. Graduates can apply under both notices, since the two CENs are separate recruitments.
How to apply online at rrbapply.gov.in
The full walkthrough, including the mistakes that get forms rejected, is in our step-by-step RRB NTPC apply online 2026 guide. The short version:
- Open rrbapply.gov.in and click Create an Account. If you applied for any RRB notice in 2024, 2025 or 2026, log in with that same account instead.
- Fill your account details exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate. This page can never be edited later, so check every spelling.
- Verify your identity with Aadhaar or DigiLocker. Forms verified with other IDs face stricter checks at every stage.
- Open the CEN 06/2026 or CEN 07/2026 application link, choose one RRB, and rank the posts and zones in your order of preference. A post you leave out counts as "not interested" and cannot be added later.
- Take your live photo against a plain background, upload your documents, and submit.
- Pay the fee online by card, net banking or UPI, and save the confirmation page with your registration number. Your form counts only once the fee is paid.
Fix Aadhaar mismatches with your Class 10 certificate before you start — corrections can take a week or more. Made an error after submitting? A correction window follows each deadline (9 to 18 November for Graduate, 16 to 25 November for Undergraduate) at ₹250 per correction, though account details and your chosen RRB can never be changed.

RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 result (CEN 07/2025) is out
If you sat the Undergraduate CBT 2 on 17 September 2026, your wait ended on 30 October 2026. The result, the zone-wise cut off PDFs and the individual scorecards were published together on the regional RRB websites for the 3,058 posts of CEN 07/2025. Our UG CBT 2 result guide walks through checking the roll-number PDF, downloading your scorecard, and what happens next. Shortlisted candidates for the typist posts of that cycle go to a Computer Based Typing Skill Test, tentatively on 27 November 2026, followed by document verification and the medical exam.
Eligibility: age and education
For Graduate posts you need a degree from a recognised university, held by 6 November 2026. The age limit is 18 to 33 years as on 1 January 2027. For Undergraduate posts you need Class 12 (10+2) with at least 50% marks in aggregate; SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates, and anyone holding a higher qualification, need only a pass. You must have your Class 12 result by 13 November 2026 — candidates still awaiting results cannot apply. The UG age limit is 18 to 30 years as on 1 January 2027. OBC-NCL candidates get 3 extra years and SC/ST candidates get 5, with further relaxations for PwBD and ex-servicemen as per the notices. Each post carries a medical standard (A2, A3, B2 or C2), and failing the medical for your chosen post means no other post is offered — check the standards before ranking.
Exam pattern and syllabus in brief
Both stages are computer-based tests with the same three subjects. CBT 1 has 100 questions in 90 minutes — General Awareness 40, Mathematics 30, General Intelligence and Reasoning 30 — and it only screens: about 15 times the vacancies are called to CBT 2 on normalised scores. CBT 2 has 120 questions in 90 minutes (General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35, Reasoning 35) and decides your merit rank. Wrong answers cost one-third of a mark in both stages. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL and SC, and 25% for ST. The paper comes in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages. Our syllabus, exam pattern and cut off guide breaks down the topic list subject by subject.
How the RRB NTPC cut off works
There is no single national cut off. Each RRB publishes its own, post-wise and category-wise, with each result. Marks are normalised across shifts first; the cut off is then set by how shortlisted candidates scored against the seats available. For the Graduate cycle, CBT 1 is tentatively planned from the fourth week of December 2026, so a CBT 1 cut off will follow with that result. Expect stiff competition: lakhs of candidates chase a few thousand posts.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RRB NTPC last date for 2026?
6 November 2026 for Graduate posts and 13 November 2026 for Undergraduate posts, both at 11:59 pm, on rrbapply.gov.in only.
How many RRB NTPC vacancies are there in 2026?
5,236 in total: 3,548 Graduate posts under CEN 06/2026 and 1,688 Undergraduate posts under CEN 07/2026, spread across 21 RRBs.
Is there an RRB NTPC app to download?
No. There is no official app for applications or results. Everything happens on rrbapply.gov.in and the regional RRB websites. Our download page explains this and points you to the official portal.
Is there a typing test in RRB NTPC 2026?
No. Both 2026 notices have dropped the typing skill test for the typist posts; typing is checked after joining instead. (The typing test on 27 November 2026 belongs to the older CEN 07/2025 cycle.)
Where do I check the RRB NTPC result?
On the website of the regional RRB you applied to. Result PDFs list the shortlisted roll numbers, and scorecards open after login with your registration number and date of birth.
Apply early, and only on the official portal
The Graduate window closes on 6 November and the Undergraduate window on 13 November, and the portal slows down badly in the final two days of every cycle. Finish your form this week if you can. Ignore any website or app that asks for money to "register" you or promises a confirmed seat — the only official doors are rrbapply.gov.in for applications and the regional RRB websites for results. This site is an independent guide, not an RRB page; our disclaimer spells out what that means.
